Mark L. Fulford took this photo of a mother and baby Rocky Mountain goat in June 2012 in the Chicago Basin in the San Juan Mountains. To get to this location, Fulford rode for two hours on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad from Durango, and then hiked seven miles, gaining 3,000 feet in elevation. He used a 16-megapixel Nikon Coolpix S6200 camera, a pocket-sized point-and-shoot camera. Fulford practiced bankruptcy law with Sherman & Howard L.L.C. for 39 years. He and his wife, Katherine, served in the U.S. Peace Corps from 2013 to 2015 in Southern Africa.
