    Legal Aid organizations and pro bono programs in Colorado
    CBA's Appellate Pro Bono Program
    The Colorado Bar Association’s (CBA) Appellate Pro Bono Program may help you obtain a lawyer to assist with your appeal in the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court. If you cannot afford a lawyer you may qualify for this program. The program applies only to civil cases. In the Court of Appeals, it does not apply to unemployment, prison discipline, or criminal cases. In the Colorado Supreme Court, a civil matter for the purposes of this program does not include criminal cases or cases involving post criminal conviction relief, prison discipline, habeas corpus appeals, ballot title appeals or election appeals.     (303) 698-0999 The Denver Bar Association has partnered with 9News to provide a weekly ask-a-lawyer program every Wednesday from 4:00-6:30 p.m.that is designed to provide legal information based on brief descriptions of legal issues and suggestions where the individual may go for legal assistance. Attorney volunteers do not give out personal contact information and are asked not to use their full name. Volunteer attorneys simply offer free legal information to callers.     Colorado Lawyers for Colorado Veterans
    The Colorado Bar Association, in cooperation with a number of local bar associations, offers free legal clinics for veterans across Colorado. The clinics assist in understanding the legal processes and forms.

    The Denver Bar Association offers pro se (do-it-yourself) litigant clinics on the subjects of Bankruptcy, Divorce, Small Claims and Collections. These clinics assist in understanding the legal processes and forms. They do not provide explicit legal advice nor will they directly assist in completing forms.
    Metro Volunteer Lawyers (MVL)
    Denver Metro Area residents: If your income is at or below 125% of federal poverty guidelines and you need help with your civil legal issue (not criminal), you may qualify for pro bono (free) or low-fee legal services. Call (303) 837-1313 to apply. Metro Volunteer Lawyers’ volunteer attorneys assist with civil legal cases for little or no fee. Processing for Metro Volunteer Lawyers applications is done by Colorado Legal Services. Literally thousands of people call each year for legal help putting extraordinary pressure on available volunteer attorneys. Since demand far exceeds supply, MVL may not be able to meet your immediate needs.
